1/20/2004 - Donald C. Schmonsky Sr., 81, 57 N. Everett St., Jamestown, N.Y., died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at home.
He was born June 22, 1922, in Sheffield to the late James and Clara Knopf Schmonsky. He was a 1941 graduate of Warren High School and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
From 1951 until his retirement in 1984, he had been employed by Alltel as a cable splicer. He was a member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Lakewood Memorial Post 1286 American Legion, and the Jamestown Audubon Society. He enjoyed his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed traveling and feeding birds. -

He was a 1941 graduate of Warren High School and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He had been employed by Alltel as cable splicer from 1951 until his retirement in 1984.
