Schmidt, C.F.S.P.1st Vice PresidentScott was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to the canal town of Middleport shortly after the Blizzard of '77.A graduate of Royalton ,Hartland Central School he went on to attend and graduate from the State University of New York Canton College of Technology where he received his A.A.S. degree in Mortuary Science.As a practicing NY State Licensed Funeral Director since 1984, he has spent his entire professional career in Albion, New York where he works for Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes.Scott was elected to the office of Orleans County Coroner in 1990.He is a member of several community service organizations, the local fire department and serves as organist at Barre Center Presbyterian Church.He also is the Regional Training Officer for the Region 2 Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team, a specialty response team of the FEMA's National Disaster Medical System under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.Scott lives in Albion with his wife Aleka, and daughters: Hayley-age 12, and Danielle-age 1 ½ .

    Scott Schmidt graduated from SUNY Canton in 1983.He is now the proud owner of the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home in Albion, NY. Scott says SUNY Canton gave him the educational and social experiences that he could not have found at any other college.The sense of family in the program was truly remarkable and continues to this day. He says it is an honor to come back and serve on the Advisory Board of the program and give something back for all that he received during his years at Canton.
