Race director Lloyd Schmidt has come up with a truly unique event.Seven Stages, over eight days, totaling 160km!Distances range from 10k to the marathon.Once you've experienced it, you are likely to stick with it.I took part in Stages one through five.I am hooked, and am going back next year to do the entire thing.What struck me most about participating in The ENDURrun was:- the organization of the event.Lloyd, the race director, is extremely approachable.I struck up an e-conversation with Lloyd the months before the event.I felt like I knew Lloyd before actually meeting him on race day.This friendliness filters through to his volunteers and support crew.No complaints.Much more personable than an Ironman or marathon.You're known by your name, not your chip number.

Each year, race director Lloyd Schmidt enlists the support of his wife Julie and their six kids, to help organize and put on the ENDURrun. They all devote countless hours throughout the year in preparation for this event, and then spend the week of the ENDURrun literally running around making sure everything is occurring perfectly. However, at the Bechtel Park stage, the six kids, ranging in age from 22 to 12, run one lap each as Team LJ6K (Lloyd, Julie, 6 kids).

In reaction to excuses that some people were making about not being able to compete in the Ultimate division due to the week-long time commitment, Race Director Lloyd Schmidt developed the Sport Division. The Sport Division is comprised of the final three stages of the ENDURrun and is contested from Friday to Sunday. No more excuses.
