from press releases
Sandy, UT - The Utah Lacrosse Association (ULA) has announced the appointment of Lisa Schmidt as the new Executive Director.
She will be replacing Paul Larkin who is leaving to spend several months in Africa.
Schmidt has served as the Executive Director of Save Our Canyons for the previous five years working on conservation issues in the central Wasatch.
The Utah Lacrosse Association, founded in 1994, is a chapter of US Lacrosse and is focused on expanding and supporting the game of lacrosse throughout the state.
As the fastest growing sport in Utah, the organization has focused much of its time helping to establish new programs and provide support for existing programs.
"Lisa has a tremendous amount of non-profit experience at the state and national level.
ULA is incredibly fortunate that she applied for the position.," stated ULA Board President, EJ McQuade.
Development of lacrosse programs in Southern Utah, coach and referee development, building partnerships with local business and community members and sanctioning of the sport at the high school level are at the top of the long list of items Schmidt hopes to explore during her first few months.
"The sport of lacrosse and the Utah Lacrosse Association have brought many wonderful opportunities to our community.
I look forward to building on their great work," said Schmidt of her new position.
