    KEN SAVOIE - ARCHITECT

I would like to extend a special appreciation for our building's architect Ken Savoie.Ken has been a member of our church for ten years beginning when I performed the marriage ceremony for Ken and Cathy.Over the years, Ken has helped on a variety of building projects at the church, including our entry garden. When our first architect proved to be out of touch with our vision and our budget, Ken fortunately agreed to become our architect. This is against the advice of conventional wisdom, which says that the architect puts himself under double jeopardy of criticism when both a church member and a professional.

Ken immediately understood our needs and the Building Committee felt we had a friend rather than a foe as our previous architect turned out to be.Ken also had a new idea for the Meeting Room focusing on creating a large central skylight that was more within our budget.Ken has supervised the construction beyond the usual architect's requirements, and has carefully watched our expenses more than most.He moved furniture, swept floors, and cleaned brick in order to be assured the building would be in good shape for our opening.I believe we all owe Ken a debt of gratitude…Thanks Ken…..
