Dr. Saouaf is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and licensed in New York, Massachusetts and California.She has special expertise in cardiovascular imaging.Dr. Saouaf previously served as Instructor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and as Director of Body/Vascular MRI and Cardiac MRI at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Saouaf received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine.She completed her internship at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston and her residency at Columbia Medical Center in New York.She also completed a research fellowship at the Cardiovascular Institute at the Boston University School of Medicine and a noninvasive vascular fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

But when combined with mammograms, they're useful for high-risk women, says Rola Saouaf, MD, who oversees the breast MRI program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.One study found that MRIs detected 80 percent of invasive cancers in those at elevated risk.This imaging technique also may be used on breast cancer patients to look for additional lesions, says Dr. Saouaf.

Rola Saouaf , M.D. , is Assistant Professor of Radiology and Director of the Body MRI Fellowship program.Following residency training in radiology at Columbia , Dr. Saouaf accepted fellowship and faculty positions at New England Deaconess in Boston , which is part of the Harvard system.She returned to Columbia as a faculty member in 1997 and subsequently assumed leadership of Body and Vascular MRI.In 1998 she became the Director of Cardiac MRI.
