It will be another piece in Midtown's turnaround, said Sabra Sanzotta, the owner of The Loft Warehouse, a brokerage firm representing buyers seeking to live in Midtown.

"That development is going to build a critical mass that will give us some momentum as far as drawing more people to the area," Sanzotta said.

Wayne State is promoting new housing in the area to more than 8,200 faculty and staff, and close to 31,000 students.

"Launch is like the combination of two compatible ideas," Sabra Sanzotta of The Loft Warehouse says."The Sarahs wanted to promote and step out onto the scene with their spring collection and I, at the same time, had wanted to do a fashion show party because, as the owner of The Loft Warehouse, people who are curious about living downtown call me up and they're asking a lot of questions like, ‘What's it like to live downtown?' and I know that there's deeper meaning behind those questions, like, 'Is it going to be fun?Is it going to be safe?Am I going to have a social life?'

"So I saw the opportunity to have a party and just do a great outreach to the suburbs, and even amongst the people that already live here, that all are welcome here, everybody is needed here," Sanzotta continues.

Downtown Detroit, especially the East Riverfront, is an ideal culture for entrepreneurs, according to Sabra Sanzotta, a realtor who specializes in loft and condo properties in Detroit."There are so many people starting small businesses," she says.

"One reason people like the East Riverfront is because it's a community within a community," Sanzotta says.

Detroit realtor Sabra Sanzotta isn't surprised at their enthusiasm.

"Lofts are so different from houses or apartments or condos, and when people move into them for the first time, they feel free and inspired," she says."(Loft dwellers) didn't want someone else deciding where their dining room would be or what type of flooring they would have , they wanted to decide that themselves."

Loft living has taken hold in Detroit, with the sky-high ceilings, open layouts and high-end amenities.And somehow, with the right touch, owners can have it all with a loft: something that's raw, urban and edgy but has the potential for unlimited luxuries.

Sanzotta, owner of The Loft Warehouse, has represented loft properties like 55 West Canfield, and has developed a keen awareness of the details people like about lofts.

"Lofts are simplistic and open.People looking for lofts are different than other home owners in that they want to be creative with the design.They are looking to express themselves," she says.
