George Sanz, general manager of Carrow's at 605 N. Wells Ave., said the panhandlers sometimes become violent and have driven away many customers.He said he is worried about the safety of his clients, one of whom was robbed.

"Many of my workers have families, I feel responsible for them," Sanz said.
