  Dr Alan C SantosAlan C Santos is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Chairman of Anesthesiology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, USA.He obtained his MD degree in 1979 from New York Medical College, a diploma in anaesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1985 and a Master of Public Health (Health Services Administration and Policy) degree in 1998.Prior to his current appointment, he has held several clinical positions including professor of anaesthesiology at St Luke'-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York.He is also a recipient of several honorary awards including lecturer awards and being on the Best Doctors in America list.Prof Santos has been active as an academician, post graduate instructor, journal reviewer and researcher and his special interest is in the area of obstetric and gynaecological anesthesia.
