   LSI Logic Names Flavio Santoni Executive Vice President, Storage Sales and Marketing
   
   MILPITAS, Calif., October 2, 2006 - LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today announced the promotion of Flavio Santoni to the position of Executive Vice President, Storage Sales and Marketing.In this role, he will lead the global storage sales, marketing and customer support team worldwide in delivering the full spectrum of LSI storage building block solutions, including custom and standard silicon components, host bus and RAID storage adapters, modular storage systems and storage-related software products.He reports to LSI Logic president and chief executive officer Abhi Talwalkar.
   
   "Flavio is a seasoned senior executive who brings an enviable track record of achievement and a wealth of storage knowledge to this important position," said Talwalkar."His proven leadership skills will be invaluable to us as we continue to intensify our focus on providing our customers with the industry's broadest family of storage silicon, systems and software building blocks."
   
   Santoni joined LSI in February 2001 as vice president of worldwide marketing for the company's Engenio storage systems subsidiary (formerly LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc.), becoming additionally responsible for its worldwide sales and customer support operations in October 2001.In August 2004, he was named senior vice president and was elected an LSI Logic corporate officer in December 2005.Previously, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer at Sutmyn Storage Corporation and held various senior management positions with Memorex Telex in the US, UK and Italy.
   
   Santoni earned a degree in electronics from IX Istituto Tecnico, Milan, Italy.He has also completed the AeA/Stanford Executive Institute program for the management of high technology companies at Stanford University.

   Flavio Santoni is responsible for the overall management of sales, marketing, distribution, and customer support for products developed by the Engenio Storage Group, formerly an LSI subsidiary and now part of the unified LSI storage business.Santoni joined the Engenio team in February 2001 as vice president of worldwide marketing and was promoted to senior vice president of worldwide sales, marketing, and customer support in 2003.Prior to his roles at LSI, Santoni was chief operating officer and executive vice president of sales and marketing for Sutmyn Storage Corp.
   
   Santoni received an electronics degree from IX Instituto Tecnico in Milan, Italy.
