   Rev. Vincent J. Santo Rev. Vincent J. Santo, 82 of Sauk Centre, died on Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.

   Father Santo was born on March 3, 1920, in Ihlen, Minn., to Raymond and Reine (Gilbert) Santo. He received a bachelor of arts degree from St. John's University. He studied at St. John's Seminary and was ordained a priest by Bishop Joseph Busch at St. Mary's Cathedral on Sept. 2, 1945. He served many parish assignments including, assistant pastor at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud from 1945 to 1947; pastor at St. Elizabeth Church in Elizabeth and St. Leonard of Port Maruitius in Pelican Rapids from 1947 to 1954; pastor at St. Francis de Sales Church in Belgrade from 1954 to 1965; pastor at St. Anthony Church in Browns Valley from 1965 to 1976; pastor at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Padua from 1976 until his retirement in 1987. Since his retirement he had resided in Sauk Centre and later at Das Goldene Wohnheim in New Munich. Father Santo was a member and former spiritual director of Bishop Busch Council 4863 Knights of Columbus and a member of Queen of Peace General Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
