Mr. Santini was raised in South Boston.He graduated from Boston Technical School.

He owned and operated John Santini's Studio for Hair for about 20 years.

The salon won the 1996 Best of Boston award from Boston Magazine.His clientele included some of the most prominent people in both Boston's entertainment and political circles.

He leaves his mother , Mary ( Buter ) of Holbrook ; five sisters , Audrey Santini of Florida , Joan Vierbickas of Braintree , Claire Chiampa of Milton , Mary Santini-Shea of Norwood , and Christina Stewart of California ; and a brother , Paul , of Weymouth.

A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Brigid Church in South Boston.Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
