Joseph is a Senior Associate at Pointon Partners.He works in the Commercial / Tax Law practice group at Pointon Partners.
Current Practice
Joseph joined Pointon Partners in late 2000.
Joseph is involved in various advisory works in the areas of Commercial and Taxation law.Joseph generally advises domestic and international corporate groups, small to medium companies (listed and unlisted on the Australian Stock Exchange ASX), trusts partnerships, family groups and individuals whose businesses range in turnover from 1 million dollars to 100 million.
Joseph's areas of practice include acquisitions and sales, corporate restructures and reconstructions, general corporate taxation, income tax, capital gains tax, international tax, stamp duty structuring, goods and services tax, foreign investment regulations and aircraft agreements.
Experience
Joseph began practice as a lawyer in Malaysia in the area of Commercial Law.He also worked as a merchant banker in corporate finance, privatization and project finance during this time.
In early 2000, Joseph commenced legal practice in Australia, initially in the Major Projects and Utilities Group at Freehills, one of the five largest legal firms in Australia.
Qualifications / Professional Affiliations:
Joseph graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics from Monash University.He went on to complete a Master of Laws at the University of Malaya.
Joseph is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a Chartered Accountant (CA) in Malaysia.
Joseph is a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a Member of the Law Institute of Victoria.
Joseph is also the Treasurer of the Christian Legal Society of Victoria.
