Fred worked successively for Elf Aquitaine, Agip and Oilfield Production Consultants before recently co-founding Oilfield Rock Mechanics Integrated Services (ORMIS).He has written more than 80 papers about rock mechanics related problems encountered during E&P operations.His main field of competence is problem solving along with the industrialisation of research results required to achieve that goal.He was an SPE distinguished lecturer in 93/94 on the subject of wellbore stability and has served on several SPE scientific committees.He also served as president of the first ISRM/SPE joint commission on Rock Properties for Petroleum Engineers.He is an "Ingenieur Civil des Mines" (Saint Etienne) and holds a PhD from Imperial College (London).
