Wooster pitcher Adam Samson, who had been virtually unhittable in the first eight innings, threw a good pitch to MSJ's Neil Gamble, who did what hitters tend to do with good pitches.

Samson threw 8 1/3 innings and the Lions got the ball out of the infield eight times.The Orrville native worked fast and found a rhythm.He allowed just three hits and was in control despite fanning just three and threw 63 strikes in 94 pitches.
"I haven't had that happen since high school," Samson said.

Mount St. Joseph's Waite nearly matched Samson, except for an unearned run in the third, when Shaun Swearingen reached on a one-out error and scored after consecutive sharp singles from Sheldon Steiner and Pat Christensen.
