"We're not the first to do this," Scrapbook Dreamer owner Laura Samford said."We just want to raise some money."
Here's the deal: People who wish to participate can come into the store and, for $5, decorate a bra. Then, after Oct. 25, people can pay another $5 to vote for their favorite bra.
"The theme for this is to think of somebody who's been affected by breast cancer," Samford said."Maybe it's somebody who died of breast cancer or is a survivor or maybe you had a personal experience with it.We just want to be able to help."
Samford added that every penny raised by this event will be donated to the cause.
At first blush, it would seem fitting that a scrapbooking store would hold a benefit such as this one, since it would host a primarily female clientele.
But Samford says that isn't necessarily the case.
"The first person to use my crop room was a PSU football player," Samford said."Guys scrapbook too.And breast cancer also hits men"
"But we are primarily female. We just thought this was a good idea and we thought it'd be great if we could help."
And, while Samford is happy to be raising money for breast cancer, it's not like she has nothing else on her plate.
"Today was national card-making day," Samford said.
