Dr. Jubaraj Sahu is an Aerospace Engineer and Team Leader of the Advanced Computational Aerodynamics Team, and the Deputy Branch Chief of the Aerodynamics Branch at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL).

Dr. Sahu received his PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from University of Delaware in 1984, MS in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University in 1978, and BTech (honors) in Aeronautical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in 1976.He joined the U.S. Army Ballistic Research Laboratory (BRL) in 1981 and has 24 years experience in applying Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to problems of interest to the U.S. Army at BRL/ARL.Dr. Sahu has made outstanding contributions in computational modeling of base flows, turbulence modeling, multibody aerodynamic interference, and smart munition aerodynamics. He has recently been actively involved with the development and application of time-accurate aerodynamic techniques in a new area of aerodynamic research on micro-jets for control of subsonic projectiles and served as a principal investigator and leader of a successful Department of Defense High Performance Computing (HPC) grand challenge project in this new area of flow control. He is currently actively involved in the development and application of HPC time-accurate multidisciplinary coupled CFD/RBD/GN&C techniques for smart munitions and serves as a principal investigator and leader of another challenge project in this area.

Dr. Sahu is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA) and is an Associate Editor of the AIAA Journal of Aerospace Computing, Information and Communication. He has published more than 140 research papers, reports, and journal articles to include 107 sole- or primary-authored publications).Dr. Sahu has received a Meritorious Civilian Service award, five U.S. Army Research and Development awards, and the 2004 AIAA Engineer-of-the-Year Award in the Baltimore section.

His primary areas of interest include CFD, unsteady aerodynamics/flight dynamics, coupled multidisciplinary CFD/Rigid Body Dynamics (RBD)/GN&C modeling of smart munitions, high angle of attack of non-linear aerodynamics of non-axisymmetric missile, and micro-jet flow control.
