Ryan, who is seeking his third term in office, received $1,000 from BAMPAC in each of his previous elections, in 1998 and 2000.
Ryan said his relationship with the committee grew out of his work for Jack Kemp's Empower America group.Ryan worked as a speech writer and staff economist before he was elected to Congress.
"Jack has been a real advocate for African-American causes from a free market approach -- which is one of the issues I worked on," he said.
