James Ryan has more than 20 years of experience as an executive , and he is an established expert in the international energy market.Joining APX in 1999 , Mr. Ryan is based in the company's European headquarters in London.

Prior ExperienceBefore joining APX , Mr. Ryan worked two years as managing director of Volunteer Energy's Midwest United States natural gas and electricity marketing program to industrial end-users.With a team of four professionals and a support staff , he was responsible for $ 110 million in annual revenues from customers such as Ford , Goodyear , PPG , Smuckers , TRW and Lincoln Electric.His accomplishments included negotiating a 10-year tax exempt bond issue for a pre-paid natural gas supply package that saved thousands of dollars for Ohio Public Schools.

A true entrepreneur , Mr. Ryan founded Volunteer Energy Ltd. , a division of Volunteer Energy Corp. ( a wholly owned subsidiary of The Williams Company in Tulsa , OK ) , in Telford Shropshire , UK.Volunteer Energy Ltd. markets natural gas and electricity to multinational customers in Europe.His European experience also includes serving as managing director of Volunteer Energy Corp.'s European Operations for four years , and as a consultant on the impact of privatization and restructuring in Europe.

Previous to his seven years with Volunteer Energy , Mr. Ryan spent seven years with Clinton Gas Marketing , in Columbus , OH , in the positions of vice president and president of gas marketing.Prior to entering the energy business , Mr. Ryan was president of the Long Term Monitoring Division of American Digital Systems , a high-tech computer supplier to governments and municipalities.

EducationMr. Ryan received a B.A. degree in psychology from Stanford University in 1979.

Awards and MembershipsMr. Ryan is a member of the Institute of Directors in the UK.In the US , he belongs to the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and the Automatic Meter Reading Association.
