    YORK COUNTY, MAINE - Phyllis Russell of Kennebunk was named Board Member of the Year by the HomeCare Alliance of Maine at their Annual Meeting in Freeport on Thursday, September 21st.The HomeCare Alliance of Maine is the state association representing home health agencies throughout Maine.Ms. Russell, who is a retired healthcare executive and consultant, has been actively serving on the SMMC Visiting Nurses board for more than five years and recently began serving her 3rd term as Board Chair.She was nominated for her dedication, leadership and expertise, especially in the field of quality improvement and human resource development.

    The Board Member of the Year Award is presented to an agency board member to recognize committed and dedicated service.The qualifications include having served as a member of the Board for at least two years and demonstrated commitment through serving on one or more Board committees and/or as an officer of the Board.The award also recognizes the individual's participation in community activities on behalf of home care.
