The farm manager with Baker Seeds at Rutherglen, Mr Andrew Russell, confirmed the bright outlook.
"There is definitely a positive feel out there, people are ready to put the drought behind them," Mr Russell said.
"I think the drought has been a great learning curve for a lot of people."
Mr Russell said the biggest indicator of the droughts slaying would come when the small businesses in country towns started to boost their income as farm returns flowed in.
He is also expecting the breaking of the drought to provide a lift for his employer.
"From a seed point of view this year is going to be huge, because seed stocks have been run down because of the lack of production," Mr Russell said.
