    Hats off to Todd Rosenthal of Moline High School.This athletic director put the game of life ahead of the game of football last Friday night in his accommodation and acknowledging of Alleman's Jim Appleman's presence at Browning Field.

    As many on both sides of the field knew, Jim has been long leading one of the most courageous and positive battles against cancer that this area has ever witnessed.Mr. Rosenthal should be commended for showing all fans in attendance that the game of life and helping each other persevere and smile takes priority when challenges arise ... regardless what team we are cheering for!

    Moline athletic director Todd Rosenthal had no part in the decision for the Maroons to open Saturday at 1 p.m. at Downers Grove South.That was a deal done by the coaches in a midnight meeting to exchange tapes Sunday morning.
