Steve received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Carleton University.He then joined Newbridge Networks and gained expertise in ATM technology and ATM switch design.

In 1998, Steve accepted a position with BellSouth Telecommunications in Atlanta, Georgia and focused on next-generation IP/MPLS-based networks.

Steve joined Cisco as a Systems Engineer in 2000.For the last 3 years, he has been strategically involved with the design and implementation of the Alberta SuperNet.

During his career, Steve has authored published works and participated at the ATM Forum and ITU.
