Paul Rosenberg and Michael Brown were nominated for the two open village board seats by Rye Brook Together, a local community action group.

Rosenberg, 38, unsuccessfully ran for trustee on the Citizens for Sound Government line in the March 2003 and 2004 elections.
But he was appointed to the board after the election in 2003 to fill the unexpired term of a trustee who resigned. He served until 2004, when he lost his second election.
During his tenure on the board, Rosenberg headed the Coterminous Town/Village Committee, which investigated the merits of Rye Brook's becoming an independent town/village.
