   Rosehill signs with Tampa Bay
   
   ABERDEEN, S.D. - University of Minnesota Duluth defenseman Jay Rosehill signed a multiyear contract with the Tampa Bay Lighting, giving up his final three seasons of college eligibility.
   
   Rosehill, a seventh-round pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, had five assists and 103 penalty minutes in 34 games during his freshman season.

   NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals have re-signed center Bracken Kearns and signed forward Jay Rosehill to AHL Standard Player's Contracts for the 2008-09 season, Admirals General Manager Mike Butters announced today.

   Rosehill, 23, is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound forward from Olds, Alberta.Rosehill led Norfolk with 194 penalty minutes in 66 games last season.He also registered professional highs with three goals, one game-winning goal and seven points.All of Rosehill's scoring last season came in his final 34 games played.
   
   Rosehill will enter his fourth professional season in 2008-09.In 176 career American Hockey League games between Norfolk and the Springfield Falcons, Rosehill has four goals, eleven assists and 347 penalty minutes.He has also appeared in eight career ECHL games between the Johnstown Chiefs and Mississippi Sea Wolves, going scoreless with 21 penalty minutes.
   
   Rosehill was drafted in the seventh round (227th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.He began his pro career as a defenseman but played primarily as a forward in 2007-08.
   
   Rosehill played two seasons of junior hockey in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Olds Grizzlys, notching eight goals and 13 assists with 376 penalty minutes in 91 games.Rosehill also spent one season with the University of Minnesota Duluth, appearing in 34 games with five assists and 103 penalty minutes.
