A. Duane RosePresident, Senior Metallurgical Specialist
In addition to serving as the company's President, Duane is also a metallurgical and metallographic specialist.He co-founded CRS with George Eldis and Rick Gundlach in 1987.
Duane holds a bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota and has graduate experience in zoology and metallurgical engineering at the University of Kentucky and the University of Michigan, respectively.
Duane has co-authored research papers published in the Journal of Cell Biology, and the Proceedings of the International Metallographic Society.His is the 1982 recipient of the Metallurgical Engineering Assistant award from the Detroit Chapter of ASM and was elected to the Michigan Gamma Chapter of Alpha Sigma Mu, the national metallurgical and materials honor society.He's an active member of ASM International, the Metallurgical Society, AIME, the International Metallographic Society, the Electron Microscopy Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
He is recognized as an authority in electron microscopy, energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, electron and x-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, quantitative image analysis, photography, photomacrography, failure analysis and phase identification.
Before founding CRS he was a senior technologist, metallography group leader, and senior research assistant with AMAX Materials Research Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Prior to founding CRS with Eldis and Rose in 1987, Rick was a metallurgical engineer and research supervisor for eighteen years at Climax Molybdenum Company (AMAX) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
