F. Gerry Romero , 48 , a lifetime resident of Indio , died Nov.2 , 2000 , at.

He was born Nov.8 , 1951 , to Felix A. and Josephine E. Trujillo Romero in Phoenix.He married Patricia Rose Vasquez on July 2 , 1977 in Rialto.He was owner of Romero and Associates Financial Services Co. for 20 years and marketing director of WMA Securities in Palm Springs.

He served as chairman of Desert Sands Unified School District Personnel Commission ; and also served as a school board and finance committee member.He was a lector for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Indio ; past president of College of the Desert Alumni Association ; past president of Coachella Valley Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce ; and member of Coachella Valley Mexican-American Golf Association.

He is survived by his wife , Patricia of Indio ; two daughters , Angela and Alicia , both of Indio ; his mother , Josephine T. Rodriguez of Kingman , Ariz. ; three brothers , Joseph of Indio , Reynald of Bermuda Dunes and Louis of San Diego ; and his sister , Margaret Montoya of Mountain Center.

He was preceded in death by his father , Felix , and his brother , Leonard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Indio , with a vigil service at 6 p.m.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Interment will be in the Coachella Valley Cemetery under the direction of FitzHenry Funeral Homes , Indio.
