Louis RomanoSenior Vice President, SalesLouis Romano has served as Castle Oil Corporation's Senior Vice President since 1992.His responsibilities include overseeing the development and execution of integrated short- and long-term sales strategies supporting the company's branding position.Simultaneously, he is responsible for developing energy advertising and marketing programs to heighten consumer awareness.Mr. Romano also manages the Commercial Retail Division, which is the leading supplier of heating oil and natural gas to businesses throughout the New York metropolitan area.In addition, he supervises a team of account executives, manages the commercial customer care representatives and other sales support personnel.

Mr. Romano presently serves on the boards of several professional organizations in New York, including the Associated Builders and Owners and the Board of Governors Bronx-Manhattan Association of Realtors.He also serves as Vice President of the Board of Cooley's Anemia International, a board member of YMCA of Northern Westchester, a member of COP-SHOT and a member of the Columbus Citizens Foundation.On weekends, he is active as a little league baseball and basketball coach.

He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Montclair State University.

"The burner, all operating controls -- which include pressure trolls, low water cutoffs, relays, temperature controllers and other safety items-are checked," Romano says.

Floating rates are just as they sound - the price paid depends on market conditions."Ninety-five percent of our customers buy their fuel at market prices, " says Louis Romano, senior vice-president of Castle Oil Corp., a fuel supplier and service company located in Harrison, New York. He recommends paying the market rate because in the past six years those who didn't lock in their prices actually got better rates.

Romano says that in an older building, the basement would need to be gutted and a new burner and boiler would need to be installed.

Romano suggests that buildings maintain their boiler's efficiency by having it cleaned regularly. Soot builds up in the tubes and decreases the effectiveness of the boiler. He recommends cleaning four to six times a years for number six oil burners, cleaning three to four times a year for number four oil burners, and once yearly for number two oil burners. "You should also do an overhaul of the burner once a year prior to the heating season," Romano advises.

One of the unique features of the annual show is the chance for attendees to seek expert advice from various professionals within the real estate industry and co-op and condo marketplace.This year property managers and accountants, attorneys, insurance brokers and mortgage lenders were on hand to answer questions and provide advice to Expo guests.
