As the new executive director of the Nonprofit Resource Center (NPRC) of Texas, Michael Robison says he plans to expand the outreach efforts of the center to better address the needs of the nonprofit community in San Antonio.
His strategy for getting this done is to focus on the San Antonio-based center's mission, which is to serve as a base of support for training and consulting for local nonprofit groups in areas such as business planning, development and grant writing.

This also involves, Robison says, helping the San Antonio community become a better place to live.
"As a nonprofit, my role initially is to put us in the position where we would be able to respond to (the community's needs) and have everybody respond to us," Robison says.

"If we're going to be the resource center, we need to have (that information)," Robison says.
And, he adds, the NPRC will be reaching out to the community of nonprofits to find out just what they have to offer the public and then making the effort to market those services to individuals throughout the city.
