The Reverend Charles D. Robison came to Telluride in August 2000 from New York City where he had been engaged in a tent-making ministry for 23 years.During his time in NYC Chuck served churches in Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn and became known as a pastor able to bring churches to new life and commitment.
...
Chuck was born in West Virginia and grew up in Dallas. He graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1964 and from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1967.Upon graduation he returned to Huntington, West Virginia to serve as Associate Minister in the Enslow Park Presbyterian Church, which his parents helped found 25 years earlier. In 1969 he left West Virginia for Narberth, Pennsylvania on Philadelphia's Main Line where he was the Assistant Minister at the Narberth Presbyterian Church.
In 1971 Judson Press published his first book, Look Deeply.Shortly thereafter he left the full time ministry to become Advertising Director and later Director of Corporate Development of the Presbyterian Ministers' Fund, the oldest and 46th largest life insurance company in America. In 1977 Chuck was invited to New York to become the Director of Recruiting Services for the Personal Insurance Division of Metropolitan Life.As such he managed an international staff charged with recruiting 8000 agents and 125 MBA's per year.In 1980 Robison became the youngest officer ever and the first to be appointed directly from the outside at New York Life where he designed and implemented all mass marketing products. On his 40th birthday in 1982 Chuck decided to leave full time corporate America and become a self-employed consultant.
In addition to his work as a business consultant and tent-making minister, Chuck was an adjunct faculty member of the NYPD Police Academy and a reasonably well-known executive and celebrity portrait photographer.
Chuck considers his major strengths to be preaching, strategic planning and counseling and his concerns theologically are answers to the big five questions: Who are we?Where did we come from?Where are we going? What is our purpose here? And, what time is it?
Chuck has served the church as a Presbytery Committee member, Synod Commissioner and as a Commissioner to the 1997 General Assembly.
Chuck is currently single and his son David lives in San Francisco where he is a Sales Manager for Baseline, Inc.In addition to his son, Chuck's constant companion is Dallas the Wonder Dog, the worlds smartest and most beautiful Dalmatian.
