Chris Robison serves as the Vice President of Strategic Accounts at BBI.In this role, he is responsible for managing all of the strategic alliances and new business at BBI.Mr. Robison's extensive experience in both the technical and consultative sales arenas combine in this role to allow him to lead BBI into building and maintaining the most beneficial strategic relationships to further market share and core competencies.
Mr. Robison has worked with community technologies since the early days of the industry, beginning with one of the first technology vendors, ichat.In his role at ichat, Mr. Robison supported ichat users in their implementations of message boards, chat rooms, and pager technology.Moving into the professional services department, Mr. Robison helped to expand clients' ideas of the role of online communities in their overall business strategy.Also in this role, he worked directly with developers to customize and grow ichat technologies to support new community requirements.In his experiences at ichat, Mr. Robison honed his abilities to close business by accurately understanding client requirements, proposing realistic solutions, and translating those requirements to the developers.
When ichat was spun off as a separate product line, Mr. Robison stayed with the resulting parent company, Acuity Corporation.At Acuity, Mr. Robison served as lead sales engineer.Bringing his knowledge of online interaction to the table, Mr. Robison served numerous blue-chip accounts including Lotus, Compaq, Apple, Disney, and IBM.Working directly with these enterprise clients to help them develop closer relationships with their customers, Mr. Robison envisioned a new use of community technologies, transitioning the traditional methodologies and introducing the idea of community technologies for customer relationship management.As a result, he helped develop the concept and first iteration of iChat assist, the predecessor and inspiration for Acuity's WebCenter, now a leading eCRM product suite.WebCenter effectively changed Acuity's business model, transitioning the company into an enterprise-level eCRM player and an acquisition target of Quintus Corporation.
Taking his business development and marketplace savvy to Smart Technologies (Now I2), Mr. Robison accepted a position as Senior Product Engineer, where he was instrumental in developing and executing SMART Touchpoints 5.0 and SMART DNA 4.51.
Mr. Robison holds a BA from the University of Kansas.
