Dr. Charles Robison received his bachelors degree from the University of Mississippi,
a masters degree from the University of Michigan, and a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma.Dr. Robison's teaching career spanned forty-two years in public schools and universities.He served as head of the ASU Department of Art and Music for twenty-one years, building the department from seven to seventeen faculty members, two hundred art and music students, and the first music education degree program.Dr. Robison also served as the Director of Music in more than twenty Angelo State musical productions.
Dr. Robison has been an active civic volunteer, receiving the Gold Award for more than 1300 volunteer teaching hours for the Tom Green County Adult Literacy Council.He has also served in civic leadership positions, including Director of the San Angelo Symphony Chorale, Co-Chair of the Sorantin Young Artists Competition, President of the Symphony Society Board of Directors, and State President of the Texas Association of Music Schools.He is an Elder and member of the Board of Directors of the First Christian Church.
Dr. Robison and his wife, Shirley, live in San Angelo and have two children Lee and Chuck, both ASU alumni.Lee graduated from ASU in 1978 and Chuck graduated with an ASU degree in 1980.
