The Vail Valley Partnership Thursday announced that director and chief executive officer Michael Robinson had resigned.His last day at work was Wednesday.
Robinson, who came to the valley from the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, had been on the job since June of 2006.He replaced Frank Johnson, who resigned as director of the group in August of 2005 after leading the group for 14 years.
Both Robinson and one member of the chamber's board of directors said he's leaving on friendly terms.
"I was hired as a change agent and that change has been made," Robinson said.

"We've turned this into a relevant, progressive, value-based organization," Robinson said.
With Robinson out, board member Tony O'Rourke said the group will now look for a leader with stronger local ties.

The nationwide search that brought Robinson to the Vail Valley took about eight months.
