Award winning educator and business leader Michael Robinson will deliver a lecture entitled "Mansfield University Developing Leaders: Real World Application", at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel Manor B Lounge.
Robinson's lecture will compliment MU's core values of character, scholarship, culture and service, as he discusses the power, purpose and impact of transformative leadership.
"One of the greatest and most abundant natural resources on planet Earth is intellectual currency," Robinson said."Intellectual currency is innovative, dynamic, and it's universally traded throughout the global community."
Robinson has a bachelor's degree in communications from Clarion University and a master's in counseling from Philadelphia Biblical University.During his career he has held leadership and management roles as an adjunct faculty member at Eastern University's School for Social Change/Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies, employment manager with Deloitte & Touche, and director of TRIO Upward Bound at Swarthmore College, among others.
Robinson has been a featured guest on several national radio and television news programs discussing education and professional development topics.
He's received numerous awards including Senator Vincent Hughes' Community Service Leadership Award this year, 100 Men Making A Difference Award from the American Cities Foundation in 2006, Educator of the Year Award, NAACP-Chester Chapter in 2004.
Robinson also will conduct a special team-building workshop for Resident Assistants while at MU.
