Robinson is a former Mountaineer Basketball Player who played at WVU from 1975-1978

MORGANTOWN -- Maurice Robinson played basketball for the Mountaineers in the 1970s.
His senior season was 1978.Robinson is still ranked eighth in Career Rebounds at WVU and fifth in career double-double's.
"Day in and day out I played against guys 7-foot -- much taller and much bigger than I was.I prided myself in the way I played the game," he said."I played hard and I really enjoyed it.I played really hard.I took a lot of pride in my rebounding and I'm very happy with my stats.It seems like every year somebody passes me up, but that's okay."
Robinson played alongside current WVU Head Coach Bob Huggins.

Robinson remembered that day too.
"He (Digger Phelps) kind of said they were going to take us to the cleaners," Robinson said."I wasn't a big talker back then.Towards the end of the game, we were beating them by 15 or 16 points.So, I kind of went by the bench and said, 'oh you got your butt whipped today, didn't you coach?"
Robinson suffered a few injuries after his college career was over and no longer plays basketball.He is currently a manager at CVS in Morgantown.
"The people is what makes the job what I like about it," he said.
