   A distinguished violinist and founder of the Medici String Quartet, Paul is the artistic director of the Music Mind Spirit trust and an eminent international lecturer, performer and broadcaster.For many years he has played a leading role in changing and shaping people's thinking about the power of creativity through the arts and sciences, and has particular interests in role that the arts, and in particular music, can play in both medicine and management.
   
   Paul is also a popular communicator to a wide audience via radio and television, a sought after speaker for prestigious concerts and conferences, including the World Economic Forum, the European Cultural Parliament and the Copenhagen Business School (where he is a visiting Professor), and acts as advisor to numerous arts and corporate organizations.He has recently become Professor of Music and Medicine at the Peninsula Medical School in Cornwall.In management he has focused on the insights on leadership and peak performance that can be drawn from world class music ensembles.In medicine he has focused on the use of music in health and well-being as a subtle metaphor of the many complex issues that face the contemporary physician.He is involved in research that is looking beyond the impressive armoury of modern clinical practice and tackling the far more elusive terrain of subjective human experience as it affects both patient and carer.This approach is proving valuable in work in hospices and in work with severely autistic children.
