Patrick Robertson
Patrick Robertson is an associate of ITS Global and a trade policy consultant with wide expertise in WTO/trade policy issues and trade negotiations.He was a career officer in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, retiring as Australia's Ambassador to Hungary.He was also Consul General in Washington and served in Papua New Guinea.Between 1983 and 1986 he served at the Australian GATT delegation in Geneva where he played a key role in critical trade negotiations.He has extensive experience on GATT/WTO and trade policy issues and is a specialist in agriculture, subsidies, anti-dumping and tariff negotiations.
Mr Robertson has also worked as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program where he was contracted to advise the government of Laos on Lao PDR's accession to the WTO.He has served as a member of the WTO disputes panel.He has undertaken strategic assignments with ITS for the Japanese Ministry of Trade and Industry to improve the trade policy skills among APEC countries.He recently worked with ITS in South Africa, training African trade negotiators in WTO and specialist negotiating skills.
