During his time with the consulting firm of MK/Centennial he acted as the project manager for their major highway projects, including the reconstruction of Upper Provo Canyon, the construction of a segment of Bangerter Highway, and the reconstruction of 16 miles of SR 91 in Northern Utah. "We have time left to see that the contractor corrects all this," says UTA project manager Mike Robertson, citing a Nov. 1 landscaping deadline. He points out that the Pork Chop/Wilshire problems are unusual when compared with the rest of the project. In fact, various community groups along the 2.5-mile route voted to recommend that UTA pay the contractor 91.3 percent of a $1.4 million public-relations performance award -- or nearly $1.3 million.
