Ken Robertson, then Datacard's director of government sales, vividly recalls the sense of urgency that dominated the initial pilot project."A state statute required Missouri to have a photo social assistance card issued within an extremely tight timeframe. The implementation timeline was a fraction of the time needed on projects of this size.IBM and Datacard were under tremendous pressure.Yet our image capture systems did the job and we were able to meet everyone's expectations," Robertson said.Datacard received the contract to provide image capture and card issuance for the program.Social assistance recipients have their photos taken at local Family Service sites throughout the state, with the information downloaded to a Datacard 9000 Series card issuance system. The EBT cards are then mailed to recipients.
