   Netinks was founded in 2004 by Sue Roberts, a self proclaimed recycling fanatic. Feeling responsible for the waste generated by the ink cartridges she was selling, she began investigating the "fast paced and exciting world of ink cartridges." She was both shocked and dismayed at what she found. It was then she began her ink recycling efforts, and chose to set up the program so that non profits would benefit financially.

   And this is where Sue Roberts comes in.
   
   Roberts, owner of NetInks in Central Point, feels so strongly about ending this cycle of pollution, she took action and began a local recycling program that not only keeps empty toner cartridges and other used printing supplies out of landfills and away from foreign shores, but also benefits non-profit organizations.
   
   NetInks sells remanufactured ink cartridges supplied by a company whose sister corporation is a major cartridge recycler. "A real recycler," Roberts says. She explains that most recyclers are picky, choosing only select cartridges or ones made by a particular manufacturer. Roberts' recycler accepts everything. "If they don't recycle it themselves, they send it to someone that does," she says. The entire cartridge gets recycled right down to the plastic, which is shredded, melted and reused.
   
   Roberts has lined up over 45 non-profit organizations eager to benefit from recycling.
   
   She explains how easy it is for anyone to participate. All an office or company has to do is pick from a list which organization to support and Roberts will take it from there.

   "They aren't stuck supporting the same group or organization, either," explains Roberts.

   Roberts has several NetInks displays in stores in Grants Pass, Medford and Ashland containing products for printers, faxes and copiers, but her new location in Central Point will be her first actual NetInks store. Her son, Seth, will run the Pine Street location while Sue continues running and expanding the business. Recycling supplies are available at NetInks located at 236 E.    Roberts is confident her recycling program and stores will continue to grow in popularity as people become more aware of e-waste and where it ends up.
