Rachelle Roberts is entering her first full season as the head cross country/track & field coach at UNCG after accepting the position in May of 2004. Prior to accepting the position, Roberts served as both an interim head coach and assistant coach with the program.
As the interim head coach, Roberts saw the program flourish by setting a combined 14 new school records during the track & field season.

Roberts has been responsible for the development of three collegiate running programs as a coach. She worked as an assistant coach at both the University of Alabama and the University of Iowa, respectively. Her duties included recruitment of athletes, developing training programs and management of the program's travel.
During her time at Alabama she coached five NCAA qualifiers, three SEC Cross Country Freshmen of the Year and 11 all-conference athletes. As the head coach at Murray State, Roberts guided two NCAA qualifiers and 12 Ohio Valley Conference champions.
As a collegian, Roberts was a four year letterwinner and All-American in the mile run as a cross country and track athlete at the University of Iowa. In 1992, Roberts was inducted into the Indiana Track and Field Hall of Fame.
She earned a bachelor of science degree from Iowa in 1990, prior to completing a master of arts degree in health studies from Alabama in 2001. She is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. -
