Nancy Roberts, LSPA President, provided an opening statement, expressing willingness to work with the Board to come up with a set of procedures that will be more equitable to LSPs.Nancy indicated that the LSPA feels strongly that the procedures should be finalized as a set of regulations. As such, the regulations would provide a formal, legal process for an LSP to follow, should he/she be disciplined by the Board.Nancy then described the key areas of concern that the LSPA has regarding the disciplinary process: 1) "front end" of the complaint process needs to be formalized; 2) more consistency in the close-out process relative to confidentiality, records kept, and format; 3) Complaint Review Team investigation process; and 4) confidentiality. Finally, Nancy indicated that there are several other more global issues that the LSPA would like to discuss with the Board at a later date.
