Larry began his broadcasting career in the 1950's, in his hometown, Chillicothe, Ohio, where he sold his own radio show, playing the first rock and roll music in that small town- this was a controversial move at the time as rock and roll itself was controversial.

Larry worked as a DJ in Cincinnati, Ohio; Miami and Orlando, Florida; and Norfolk, Virginia. He was also a TV game show host in Miami.

In the 60's, he interviewed the Beatles three times, once quizzing John Lennon over his remark about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus, which set off a frenzy of burning Beatles albums by some stations in the South.

Larry's broadcast career spans more than 40 years in radio and television. He made the radio-to-television change when he moved to Charleston, West Virginia in the mid-70's at a tv weather forecaster, and later becoming an anchor/reporter.He furthered his career by working in San Diego, California; Orlando, Florida; Columbus, Ohio; Savannah, Georgia; and Beaumont, Texas.

He was the first TV reporter on the scene at the McDonald's Massacre near San Diego in 1984, for which he won Golden Mike Awards for Best Spot News Coverage. He also appeared on Good Morning America and ABC Nightline to cover this story.

He also broke the James Byrd murder story in Jasper, Texas, where three white men dragged Byrd to his death chained to the bumper of a pickup truck; another story which gained national attention.

While working in San Diego in the 80's, Larry and his wife, Diana, vacationed in Moab, Utah, and often traveled through Grand Junction on their way to Ohio; they fell in love with the Rockies and the Western Slope of Colorado during their camping trips. This eventually led to a move to Grand Junction in the fall of 2004, where Larry joined KREX-TV as Anchor and Managing Editor, helping the launch of a new format and image with their news.

Larry and Diana live in Grand Junction with their treasured family pets, their dog, Boo Bear, and two birds, Tiki and Tweety. The whole family enjoys their weekend camping trips in the mountains!Larry's other hobbies include flying (he has a private pilot's license) and riding his motorcycle.

Larry is very excited to return to his radio roots, where he doesn't have to wear makeup and blow dry his hair every day for that "tv anchor" look ...
