    The guide, published in affiliation with FoodService Director Magazine, was compiled and written under the direction of A. Win Davis, President of Richmond, Virginia-based Win-Formation, Ltd. dba Market Access, and Harold Ritchie, President and CEO of Atlanta, Georgia-based Ritchie Associates Inc, a foodservice consultant to the convenience store industry.

    The first 15 pages of the guide are packed with information and research providing a comprehensive market overview, and sections titled "Everything You've Heard About Branding Is Wrong," and "Co-Branding: Here's What You Have to Know to Succeed."

    In the "What Is Your Food Attitude?"section, Ritchie and Davis summarize a survey in which they asked 10,000 convenience store operators to explain their attitudes concerning the branding trend.

    "We were most impressed with the operators perception of what branded foodservice could and could not do," they said."Not a single operator responded that branded foodservice could revive a slow or lifeless store."

    The guide also warns that the opportunities for co-branding are becoming saturated.The good news, it says, is that there are a few opportunities that are far from saturated, including:
