Gregg Ritchie.
Gregg Ritchie, 30, from West Linn, was charged with 10 counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the first degree, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.
Ritchie, a music teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School since 2000, is in Clackamas County Jail in Oregon City.He has also been placed on paid administrative leave by the North Clackamas School District.
Ritchie was arrested Tuesday at the offices of the Oregon Education Association in Clackamas County.His bail has been set at $250,000.
Investigators found no evidence that Ritchie committed any crimes on school property or used any school equipment, the sheriff's office said.
The investigation began when the sheriff's office received a complaint from the North Clackamas School District on Sept. 21.A parent reported that his minor child was having inappropriate chats with Ritchie over the Internet.
When investigators seized Ritchie's computer, they found several "pornographic photographs depicting minor children engaging in sexual activities," the sheriff's office said.
Before working for the North Clackamas School District, he was employed by the Oregon City School District.
