Antonio Rios, a Gainesville internist whose patient base is two-thirds Latino, said he's following the new guidelines.

"We have been undertreating high blood pressure for a long time," he said.

The staff is smaller, so there's better communication," said Antonio Rios, a Gainesville internist who recently moved his office from Pearl Nix Parkway to near Lanier Park.

"I try to admit most of my patients to Lanier Park unless they have a high level of acuity (such as severe heart disease)," he said.
