    James Avery Rigdon, 90, of Waldron, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Waldron Health Care Home in Waldron.

    Born Sept. 25, 1912, in Hancock County, he was the son of Thadeus and Augusta Jane (Youngs) Rigdon, both deceased.He married Alma I. Haehl on Feb. 25, 1945; she preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2002.Prior to that, he had been married to Erthel Irene Whitaker; she preceded him in death in 1943.

    Mr. Rigdon was an electrician with Kelley Wiring for 40 years.He had also worked as a greenskeeper at the Country Club in Shelbyville, and in the poultry industry.He was a member of First Christian Church in Shelbyville, where he had served as an elder and a teacher.He was also active with the Men's Fellowship for which he served as state secretary, and he sang in the choir.He had the distinction of having been named an Elder Emeritus by the church.
