Joe Rickard is a sailing fanatic who early on discovered that maritime traditions create instant bonds between travelers and bring a sense of being part of local culture - rather than a passerby. He is a member of the Chicago Yacht Club, which offers reciprocity with yacht clubs worldwide.

Joe is deeply rooted in Chicago. He is a graduate of Loyola University and has been part of two successful technology startups in Chicago.

Joe co-founded Ecotravel to help educate travelers on how to gain a better cultural experience from traveling - and to preserve the destinations to which they travel.
