  Jo Rickard is a partner in Shearman & Sterling's Litigation Group in London. She has wide commercial litigation experience advising corporates, banks, liquidators and receivers as well as self-regulatory bodies in relation to a variety of claims. Many of these claims involve proceedings in the High Court in London dealing with transnational litigation, regulatory investigation work, mediations and domestic arbitrations. She was recently recognised as a leading practitioner in bank litigation and commercial litigation in the Legal Experts guide 2007.
  
  Jo Rickard joined Shearman & Sterling in 2006. She was a partner in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from 1981-2006. While there she was the joint head of the worldwide Dispute Resolution Practice Group for five years and departmental managing partner of Dispute Resolution in London for nine years.

  Jo Rickard is based in London and is the joint head of our dispute resolution practice.She has wide general commercial experience including insolvency proceedings, regulatory disciplinary proceedings and regulatory and public inquiries.Jo was seconded to Lloyd's for nearly two years as Director of Legal Services during its Reconstruction and Renewal (R&R).Recently she has concentrated on banking disputes.
  
  Her work has included:
  
  acting for Lloyd's on its Reconstruction and Renewal programme, on test case litigation in the UK including the Jaffray fraud litigation and responsibility for all R&R related litigation; advising the joint administrators of Polly Peck International in its claim for negligence against its former auditors;advising the Government of Brunei and the Brunei Investment Agency in matters arising out of the investigations carried out by the Financial Task Force established by the Government in spring 1998; andadvising the Lotteries Commission in relation to the grant of a new licence for the lottery following the judicial review application.
