Heather Rice, Kids' Camp Coordinator & Intern Heather came to Colorado seven years ago to attend Colorado College, where she received her BA in Cultural Anthropology and Environmental Issues.Her enthusiasm for exploring the natural world and its human cultures has brought her on a variety of academic excursions throughout the southwestern United States and Europe.She has put many miles on her hiking boots, exploring remote locations in Alaska, California, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado.While in college, Heather volunteered at the Beidleman Environmental Center in Colorado Springs as a community educator, where she did natural history presentations for elementary-aged students.She also worked with the Colorado College,s Outdoor Recreation Committee coordinating supplies for student-lead trips in the Rocky Mountains.Heather is delighted to be working this summer as an intern and guide for the San Juan Outdoor School, as well as the non-profit San Juan Field School.She holds certifications in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Community First Aid.
